Spend five weeks this summer exploring one of Europe’s most vibrant  and welcoming cities: Stockholm! Stockholm is a maritime city that is a hub for innovation, sustainability, design and fashion. This program combines Calculus and Scandinavian Crime Fiction with the opportunity to get to know Sweden’s contemporary creative culture. Explore Stockholm’s centuries-old historical districts and its celebration of the natural world while completing UR general education requirements over the summer break. The program will feature excursions that allow students to explore Stockholm and surrounding areas, as well as guest lecturers.

Costs are approximate, do not include airfare, and are subject to change without notice as a result of fluctuations in currency values and other factors. Participants are responsible for arranging and purchasing their own transportation to and from program location.

• Student Athletes: You are eligible to apply for a Weinstein Grant to provide reimbursement toward the cost of airfare. The application deadline is February 16. More information and the application can be found  here.

Orientation
During orientation on campus in the late spring, participants will meet to receive important logistical and cultural information, and begin to prepare for their exploration of Sweden. Attendance at all orientation meetings during the spring semester is mandatory.

Housing and Meals
Students will be housed in shared dormitory style rooms or a residential community managed by our partner DIS. Housing will be easily accessible to the DIS study center by public transportation.

• Visiting the summer island of Vaxholm
  
• Archipelago tour
• Vasa Museum
• Nobel Prize Museum
• Tour of the culture-rich, artistic island Södermalm
